Applications Accepted for DRPSB Community Member Appointment

Whitby, Ontario – The Regional Municipality of Durham is now accepting applications from residents who wish to serve as a community member on the Durham Regional Policing Services Board (DRPSB). The duration of this appointment is four years and coincides with the mandate of Regional Council.

When: Interested residents are asked to submit a completed application form to the Regional Clerk by 4:30 p.m. Thursday, October 27.

Where: The appointed community member shall attend monthly meetings of the Board of Directors at the head office of the Regional Municipality of Durham, 605 Rossland Road East, Whitby.

Why: The DRPSB is the civilian governing body of the police service. The Police Services Act requires that the DRPSB include a member of the community appointed by resolution of the regional council, who is neither a member of the regional council nor an employee of the Regional Municipality of Durham.
