Saskatchewan Association of Rural Municipalities Holds Division Meetings in June –

The Saskatchewan Association of Rural Municipalities (SARM) is holding its June division meetings in person for the first time in two years.

Meetings are being held for SARM members June 6-9.

“It will be great to come face to face after having had virtual meetings for the past two years,” said SARM President Ray Orb. “We had our annual meeting in Regina, it was in person, so it was kind of nice to be able to start that cycle again, and so I’m sure our members are looking forward to the June division meetings as well.”

Division 1, which includes the Rural Municipality of Weyburn, is holding its meeting from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. on June 8 in Kipling. Several topics will be discussed including building codes, corridor clearance, broadband and integrated rural roads for growth.

“We have executives, myself, the vice president and our managing director will be there as well as some of their staff to answer questions in the bear pit format. It’s something our members have wanted, and we’ve been doing it for a number of years now,” Orb said. “It’s kind of like a one-on-one where you can ask them questions.”
