Traffic stop leads to arrest of wanted suspect in murder case


The watchful eye of a St. Mary’s Deputy Sheriff’s Assistant aided in the arrest of a man who had an active warrant with the Thibodaux Police Department on three counts of second degree murder, among others accusations.

Shortly after midnight Thursday, an assistant patrolling the area of ​​Highway 90 West in Patterson said he noticed a vehicle moving west in front of him with spare parts allegedly in violation of the law. Once arrested, another deputy arrived to help and police said the driver – Raheem Terrell Green, 21, of Thibodaux – would not have a driver’s license and had drugs on him.

But it’s the passenger who was with Green who faces charges in a murder case outside Thibodaux.

Deante Jamal James Pharagood, 21, of Thibodaux, was taken to the St. Mary’s Parish Law Enforcement Center for reservation and is being held for another agency. He also faces the following charges:

  • Second degree murder principle (3 counts)
  • Aggravated assault with firearm
  • Aggravated theft of an officer
  • Single battery

Green was arrested and released on subpoena on December 1, 2021 on the following counts:

  • Spotlights and auxiliary lamps
  • The driver must have a license
  • Possession of marijuana
  • Possession of drug paraphernalia

Seven other names were in the Daily Arrest Report released Thursday by the St. Mary’s Parish Sheriff’s Office.

Eric Brent Charles, 45, Jeanerette, LA, was arrested on September 15, 2021 at 7:55 a.m. for unauthorized entry into inhabited accommodation and criminal damage to property. No bond has been set.

Trinea Lynell Thomas, 25, of Gibson, LA, was arrested on September 15, 2021 at 9:02 a.m. for driving while suspended. Thomas was released on subpoena on December 1, 2021.

Joseph Lee Robertson, 57, Jeanette, LA, was arrested on September 15, 2021 at 2:24 p.m. on three warrants for failure to appear on charges of:

  • Ride on roads and cycle paths
  • Criminal intrusion
  • Simple burglary of an inhabited dwelling
  • Resist an officer
  • flight
  • Robertson was released on $ 15,750 bail.

Michael Thomas Woods, 30, Thibodaux, LA, was arrested on September 15, 2021 at 11:35 a.m. on a warrant for theft. Woods was released on $ 4,000 bail.

David Adilson Soto-Buezo, 22, Houma, LA, was arrested on September 15, 2021 at 10:46 p.m. on the following counts:

  • Reckless operation
  • No driving license
  • Open container
  • Driving while intoxicated

The deposit was set at $ 3,750.

Ta’nasia Duncan, 20, Thibodaux, LA, was arrested on September 15, 2021 at 10:55 p.m. for possession of Schedule I (marijuana). Duncan was released on subpoena on December 1, 2021.

Shaddrick Neddie, 45, Syracuse, LA, was arrested on September 15, 2021 at 4:50 p.m. on five warrants on the following counts:

  • Possession of Schedule II (cocaine crack)

  • Driving on the right side of the road, exceptions
